7 July 2006 Dear fellow Philatelist,
With the current round of excitement in terms of the

22 February 2006 Dear Fellow Philatelist,
We herewith present you with our 2nd general
newsletter for 2006.
The Namibian countryside looks absolutely
fantastic after
continuous rains throughout January and February.
Return visitors to our country will be astounded
to see how
the Desert Landscape has been transformed into
patches of
green lush vegetation.

9 January 2006
Dear Fellow Philatelist,
With many already busy with their normal
working routines,
and the rest to follow soon, we're now truly into
2006.
Namibia is getting superb rain during the past 2
weeks, and
the countryside is starting to look very
beautiful. We know
many of our clients live in areas & countries
where the very
word RAIN will receive an AAARGH reponse,
but here in
Namibia every drop counts.
Towards the end of last week we contacted Nampost
in
Windhoek to enquire about news relating to the
2006
Stamp Program. The following info
was received :
2006 Namibia Stamp Program :
Issues after July will be advised at a later
stage.
AUCTION
Next auction (# 12) is scheduled for 28 January
2006, and will feature some amazing material.
Lots will be posted by 18 January.
OVERPRINTS

We wish all our clients a Healthy & Successful
2006.
9 December 2005
Dear fellow Philatelist,
With the year fast drawing to a close, we look
back on a very busy and
successful year for all of us here at Namib
Stamps, and have you, our
esteemed clients to thank for this. Internet
sales improved by a big margin
and this proves that the stamp market is alive and
well.
A first for us this year was to venture into the
online auction sphere.
The auction is growing at a steady pace, with many
new bidders
signing up every week. Registrations have
now reached about 700.
During 2006 we will up the variety and quality items
offered on the
auction to new levels to draw even more bidders.
The past year has seen many new collector &
investor buyers enter
the stamp market. Top items, including rare
stamps, misprints, proofs,
etc. are selling for record prices on auctions.
During the year we have made many additions and
changes to the
website to make it accessible to a wider audience
and easier to
navigate. We welcome your feedback and
suggestions in this regard.
The shop will remain open during the Holidays, and
we will only be
closed on 25 December.
We wish you and your family a peaceful Holiday Season and
a healthy successsful 2006.
Looking forward to be of service again during 2006.
Sincerely,
Brian Basson Jr. and the
rest of the Namib Stamps Team
2 December 2005
Dear fellow Philatelist,
It has recently come to light that a 2nd
overprint
exist for the Namibia Defin. $2.90 on 20c.
The setting is similar to the N$5.20 on 90c and
we
think this might have been done by error, as all
subsequent material that surfaced are different.
Philately Services in Windhoek does not have any
logical explanation or records for this.
Current Estimates are that the ratio is about 1
: 5,
ie. 1 stamp with $2.90 at left for every 5 with
$2.90 at right.
Very few of the stamps with $2.90 at left has
surfaced
thus far, and we congratulate those of you that
ordered
the overprints early on, as you might be part of
the lucky few.
We ask all collectors that ordered these stamps
from us
to please report on which $2.90 on 20c overprint
they have.
Just reply to this email stating either
N$2.90 left
OR
N$2.90 at right
We will keep you up to date with further
developments.
23 November 2005 Dear fellow philatelist,
We herewith take great pleasure in presenting you
with our 9th
general newsletter for 2005.
Here in Southern Africa, incl. Namibia, we are
now nearing mid Summer
time, with daily temperatures touching 35
degrees. In Swakopmund we
are lucky in that our temperatures are on the
mild side due to the Atlantic
Ocean that borders our town on the Eastern Side.
Day temperatures
seldom exceed 25 degrees.
Still lots of European & North American
tourists around. We expect to
receive more visitors during 2006 due to the safe
and general natural
disaster free status of our region. With a
population of only 2 million
people, and a country 2/3rds the size of South
Africa, Namibia truly
remains the undiscovered jewel of Africa !
The countryside and wildlife
is diverse, and many visitors return again and
again.
Getting back to the stamps :
- Special Discount Rates
for the next 7 days only (23 - 30 December) we
offer very special discount
rates. Please visit the "discount
rates" page on the site. The more you
buy the more you will save !
- Namibia Defin. Overprints
The Namibian Definitive overprints sold extremely
well, and we congratulate
all of you who ordered timeously - we expect
these stamps to have a huge
collectors value due to the limited quantities
overprinted. As mentioned
before - 6 of the stamps had a print run of
only 500 sheets, ie. 5000 stamps !!
These are now sold out at most Post Offices in
Namibia.
When these overprints finally appear in
International catalogues prices
should reflect this.
- Auction news
Auction 9 attracted many more bids than
auction 8, and we thank all our
regular bidders for their welcome support.
Auction 10 (expiring on 26 November) offers the
basic and advanced collector
a wealth of material.
Sections that attracted the most bids was British
Africa, South West Africa
and South Africa Union & Republic.
On the main page of the website there will always
be a link to the auction
main page, as well as the current auction.

charge buyers commission !!
We are urgently seeking quality
material, especially varieties, to place
on future auctions.

of the selling price, plus we do not
charge any other listing fees.

with our 8th
general newsletter for 2005.
Here in Namibia we are now nearing Summer time,
with every day
becoming ever so slightly warmer.
Many European tourists around at the moment, keeping us quite
busy in the shop.
Lots of news to report on :

- In total 14 new overprints have been made on Namibia
Definitive Stamps
during the past 3 months. Quantities for some
values was very limited,
and we have learned that for 3 of the values only 5000 stamps

We have tried out best to buy as much stock as possible, but

sale.

be advised by
Namibia Post. (Topic is "Biodiversity of
Namibia".)

We note that a few clients place bids below the current minimum

24 February, 2005 Dear fellow philatelist,
We herewith take great pleasure to present you with our 2nd
general newsletter for 2005.
With the first 2 months of 2005 having passed very quickly,
we once again have lots of stamp related issues to report on.
We decided 3 months ago to venture into the online stamp
auction arena. This have proved to be a very good decision,
with auction 1 exceeding all expectations. Expansion in the
quantity of lots on offer was therefore inevitable.
Auction 2 boasts more than 1 000 lots of Southern & British
Africa, German Colonial stamps, and Collections /
Accumulations.
For auction 3 there's even bigger plans in the pipeline, ie. a
worldwide section to include better items from other countries too.
There's still some development work that needs to be completed, but
soon the auction will be full interactive. More news as it
becomes
available.
Auction registration have gone exceptionally well, with an average
of nearly 10 registrations / day. We predict this number
to increase
as the "word gets out".
For those of you that would like to participate, but have not yet
registered, we invite you to register for the auction on the
following page of the website :
http://www.namibstamps.com/auctionoptin.htm
You can also already take a quick peek at the auction layout,
conditions, etc.
Enough action talk .....
The retail section of the site is still going from strength to
strength.
There will be some consolidation on the site during the course
of
2005 - we are busy removing inactive pages, and expanding the
offering
for the more active pages / sections. Especially the Topical
section
will receive some attention, as theme collectors remains a high %
of our client base.
Namibia will be issuing a fantastic new Definitive issue in June.
The
theme is Biodiversity of Namibia. Pictures will be posted to
the site the
moment they become available.
For the period 24 February - 2 March we will have very special
discount
rates. We invite you to browse through the site and look
forward to hear from you.
Philatelic greetings
Brian
