Specialized collector's of this
Postal History area knows the scarcity of some of the postmarks from German
South West Africa Post Offices listed below. Some
Post Offices / Agencies existed for a very
short period, and their postmarks on Piece and more so on cover, very difficult
to find. Many Offices & Agencies made use of various cancellers, while some
used only one. 'Wanderstempels' - travelling cancellers was used throughout the
colony and a wide variety can be found, normally with a town's name inserted
using rubber stamps, and sometimes also in manuscript
