Bidding
- By placing a bid, the bidder agrees to
the conditions of sale as set out on this page.
- Placing a bid on a lot is a binding
contract between the bidder and Namib Stamp Auctions. A bid can be
retracted / changed up to one hour before auction closing time.
- In the event of 2 or more similar bids
received for a specific lot, the first bid received will be awarded
the lot.
- Bid amounts of less than two-thirds of
minimum estimate will not be accepted.
- All lots are sold subject to possible
reserves imposed by the seller.
- The cost of postage and packing will
additionally be added to the invoice total.
- VAT at 15% will be added for Namibian
bidders. Exported lots will not attract any VAT.
- All items are sold as genuine, and
guaranteed as such for a period of 3 years. In the event that an item
is proved as not being genuine, the full purchase price will be
refunded, provided that proof can be provided by more than one expert
/ certificate.
- Cost of expertisation will be charged
to the buyer of the item. Expert Certificates and signatures mentioned
as part of an items description, are decisive regarding quality.
- Currency of the auction is in South
African Rands (ZAR). We provide a link on every auction page to a
universal currency converter, for easy conversion to your home
currency.
- The auctioneer have the right to
refuse any bids, or otherwise to withdraw a lot.
- Bids may be submitted via the bidding
form, email or fax.
- "Bids at best" are not
encouraged.
Return of Incorrectly described lots
- Incorrectly described lots should be
returned within seven (7) days of receipt. Such lot(s) must be
returned intact by registered airmail.
- Non-returnable lots include : 1. Lots
having been viewed by bidders on our premises; 2. Lots described with
defects and / or faults; 3. Bigger lots and accumulations of 3 or more
items with minor defects that has been described as containing small
imperfections. 4. Covers with defective back flaps, minor
creases and small tears not affecting stamps or other markings.
Payment
- Successful bidders will be notified by
email, and must remit (in full) before any lots are sent.
- Payment of amount due within 7 days of
Invoice date.
- Amounts unpaid after 7 days will
attract an additional 5% levy.
- If you're planning to spend a big
amount - credit facilities can be provided by prior
arrangement.
- Preferred method of payment is by
Credit Card. We accept the following Credit Card Types : Visa,
Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club. (we do not charge any
surcharge for Credit Card Payments. We also accept StormPay
- Credit Cards will be charged in South
African Rand at a rate of no less than USD1 = ZAR6
- For Southern Africa we also accept
direct bank deposit (Nedbank), or bank guaranteed cheques mailed
within 7 days of Invoice date.
- Other payment methods by prior
arrangement.
- PayPal payments not yet possible, but
should be available in a few months from now.
Legal Disputes
- Placing of bids constitutes acceptance
of the foregoing conditions of sale. In the event of a legal dispute
arising, the agreed jurisdiction will be that of the Swakopmund
Magistrate's Court.

- R 50 to R 150 by 5
- R 150 to R 300 by 10
- R 300 to R 750 by 25
- R 750 to R 1 500 by 50
- R 1 500 to R 3 000 by 100
- R 3 000 to R 10 000 by 250
- R 10 000 to R 20 000 by 500
- R 20 000 + by 1 000
